Deacon Charlie preaches and speaks throughout the country, is a producer of Catholic film and television, and is host of Living the Call, a podcast about the intersection of faith & pop culture.  He’s been featured on EWTN, The Lila Rose Podcast, America Magazine, Relevant Radio and Catholic Answers among others.

Deacon Charlie was born in Hollywood, CA to immigrant parents from Colombia and lived abroad for much of his youth: Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, and the US Virgin Islands, before finally settling in South Florida where he finished schooling and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a major in Communications and a minor in Film & Television Production.  He returned to Los Angeles to begin his career in Entertainment and has remained there for over 25 years.

In 2017, he was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles, and his ministerial efforts include media, evangelization, apologetics, adult formation, homelessness, pro-life & Latino ministries.

Prior to launching his own firm, Black//Brown, Deacon Charlie held senior executive positions at global blue-chip brands like The Walt Disney Company, Univision and AOL.  He is Vice Chair Emeritus of Catholic Answers; and sits on the boards of John Paul the Great Catholic University; Vagabond Missions; Catholic Association for Latino Leadership; Guadalupe Radio; Sent Ventures and SOFESA, a non-profit that accompanies homeless families.

Deacon Charlie is married to his wife Jessica of more than 23 years and is a biological, adoptive, foster, sponsor and spiritual father as well as a stepfather, Godfather, father-in-law and grandfather! ​
